Compare online prices. They are usually pretty close to what you are going to get at cost.

Well I know what retail is on these items, how do I figure out what cost is? Last time, he gave them to me at cost and just charged me for installation and the box he built, but its different this time. Plus, I'm sure prices have changed in the last 5 years. I believe he said he'll be charging me $150 for the box. This will be a fully custom box built with MDF.

150 for the box is not a bad deal at all. Usually cost is 50-60% of retail on car audio.

Wow, only 50-60 percent. So if retail on the subs are $210, then cost is about $105-$125?

I called Sam and I was pretty surprised on his pricing. Cheaper than the cheapest I've found online. I couldn't believe it. He's not an authorized JL Audio dealer, but he says that he buys from one and there shouldn't be a problem getting warranty. That's my main concern. So this is an honest guy? The prices are good, just wanna make sure that I'm getting new products that aren't defective and that if anything goes wrong, there won't be an issue with warranty.

50%-60% markup... kinda like the prices on the crap you sell.
