Couldn't resist, pics of the '06 Duramax w/wheels/tires/lift!
I finally got fed up with the stock wheels and tires that GM put on these trucks. Who puts 245/75/16 tires on a 3/4 ton truck? Anyhow, I wanted something beefy as far as tires go, definately wanted a bigger rim, and for the size tire I wanted to run, I needed a small lift. I didn't want to go too drastic with the lift/wheel/tire combo because this is my daily driver. I also didn't want to go over a 20" rim because I wanted to have some meat for a tire. If this was a 1/2 ton truck, then I would of definately gone with a 22". I also wanted to lift the truck to get it more level as it was over 2" higher in the rear from the factory. Anyhow, I installed CST 4" lift spindles in the front and 3" lift blocks on the rear Friday night. Had the wheels and tires installed Saturday afternoon. Had to do some trimming to the lower air damn and I may have to crank the torsion bars up an inch as the tire gets too close to the bumper on sharp turns for my liking. The wheels are 20x10 Diamo 17 Karat with 305/55/20 Nitto Terra Grappler AT tires. Total time for the lift kit front and back was about 4 hours. Overall I'm happy with the wheels as it took me 3 months to decide. Anyhow, enough blabberin', here's the pics! Let me know what you think.

I can't go any bigger in the front as the tires are already rubbing against the bumper, the metal portion. I'm gonna have to crank the torsion bars an inch or so and hopefully that'll give me the room I need. Any bigger and I would be worse off. The rear is fine. I don't think I'd even have this problem if it weren't for the spindles pushing the track out 3/4" per side.
It took me 3 months looking at various wheels on the net, doing searches on the other forum board I'm on, and viewing pics posted by other members in my threads to finally decide on a wheel. I'm very happy with my choice and woudn't change it.

Very nice! I have a question about the spindles, did they have any effect on ride quality? I have also heard that with taller spindles it makes the front wheels/tires stick out farther than the rears so the fronts have a wider track than the rears, any truth to this?
