Default Possible to hit 1000rwhp with the Z?

Lastest STS kit install on a 402 (MTI 02' C5 Coupe)

This is with 12.6PSI

Just to give you an idea of hopefully what my car will be making.

Note also: My turbos will be the twin GT35's not what he has on this kit.

I will be running more boost as well, 13-15PSI with the 408.

Look at the jump from just 11.5PSI 757/766Then look at what just 1.1PSI did 12.6PSI 809.2/796

Man I cannot wait...

(chris, start working 8 days a week)!

I will keep yall posted with updates on progress.

So the question is, Do you guys think I can hit the 1000rwhp mark with this car?

Cheers
G

well 8pts go all the way for 8.5's(in the 1/4) certified, but I think a 6pt will do it for you and not be all in the way... all custom 6pt will run ~1200, but it will be nice and tucked. Bill Buck does great work, uses chromoly and paints the cage... i have good pics of our cage G if you want to see them tomorrow. I will be in town also, I will pm you the info.

I hate to say but no it wont make 1000rwhp, maybe 900 on race gas but most likely 750-850rwhp on pump gas depending on the boost settings. I have been researching this set up for about a year and 809rwhp has been the most they have seen. I talked to Jason and Chris at lunch today about diffrent setups people are doing to make big power, And if I had the money I would scrap the nitrous set up and do the sts kit. Garret your set up will make awsome power and run like a bat out of hell!! I cant wait to see it finished, Once Chris finish's both of are cars I would like to line them up.

It can make 1000. And I hope it does if that is your goal. Although I have to agree with Matt I haven't seen it yet although there is alway a first time and I hope to see it on your car Garret!

It's very possible on that conservative boost making over 800rwhp i assume with race gas 118 octane to hit 950ish with now prob's

Hopefully to see that happened with your Z G

why dont you guys run more boost?? 12 psi is nothing..i run 18 psi on pump gas in my supra and 30 psi on race gas..all the high HP supra guys run 40+ psi..

Is it the high compression of the motor?? I know alot of the Honda boys run 20 plus PSI with 10 to 1 compression...the race motor im building for my Nissan will run 10 to 1 comp and 40 psi of boost..

the only reason our small displacement motors make crazy HP is high boost so shouldnt the bigger motors make even more HP at the same boost level??

reasons for the lower boost.

1 different motors use different boost levels
2 its not just about how much "boost" its about cfm

True. Larger turbos will make more power at lower boost that smaller turbos at higher boost.

G, you arent doing the rear turbo kit are you?

Yeah, but I am not doing the PT turbos, that come stock with the kit. I upgraded to the Garrett Ball bearing GT35's.

Not sure if anyone has run the setup yet with Garrett GT35's. I heard they spool extremely quick. And are some of the best turbos on the market today.

I am hitting 1000rwhp, even if i I have to spray the damn thing lol.
