Default Drag racing is no joke

Had fun sitting in the back of a cop car handcuffed last night. I was pulled out of my car at gunpoint for toying around with a truck in Conroe. I didn't even get on it, I was really just playing. I had just finished installing my new 8.8 rear with 4.10 gears, I was only on the gas for maybe 2 seconds and then I stoped, didn't even go over the speed limit of 40. The guy in the truck took off and was never found. I saw the lights and pulled over, I didn't even think he saw us. They had me cuffed, read me my rights, sat me in the back, searched my car, wallet, me ect...I knew I was f*cked when the wrecker showed up to tow my car after 45 minutes, so I asked them to call my dad whos a sherriff sgt. That, and only that, was the reason they let me go, untill then I really didn't want to mention anything hoping they would just let me off. So those of you who are even just playing, be careful this **** is serious. I was ready to spend the night in jail over some stupid stuff like this. I got off with a ticket for "unsafe start", don't know if it will stick but it's better than drag racing. The cop was being a dick even though I was overly polite. Just my .02 cents

Man after living in Houston for the past few years trust me on this, they don't f@ck around when it comes to any kind of racing or close to racing. But they may need to reevaluate that and maybe go and I dunno patrol the streets more and lower the crime rate there.

damn man, lucky you! i got busted in 97 only got a ticket then got it dismissed things have changed a bit since then but i sure won't be racing again. cop pulled me over maybe 6 months ago cause he thought i was racing, told him i was trying to catch up to the a-hole that ran a stop sign and almost hit me to let him now what i was thinking. it was the truth and after 15 min's he told me to just calm down and let me go.

Only going 40? Seems like a pretty extreme reaction if you only going 40. How many gears did you row thru?

In 98 I got arrested for racing and lets just say I learned my lesson. I got pulled over by the biggest black cop in the world and he pulled me out of the car like a rag doll and handcuffed me in a way I would call pissed off. He says I tried to run which was bullshit but anyways, jail is no fun!

Same thing happened to me almost a few years back (Allen, TX). I was riding beside a V6 Camaro and some random car in the other lane (I was in the middle lane). This was like main street in Allen at 9pm. I'm not an idiot. Well, my buddy behind me flashes me like he wasnt so say something, so I speed up to let him go around me. Well, some idiot cop sees us from the opposite side of the street (going the other way)...both us and cop probably going 30-35mph. I never broke the speed limit, but in the .00234234-seconds that he saw the cars, he said we were racing. Never mind that I sped up (well under the speed limit) to let an INTEGRA go around me. Well, it didnt matter, both me and the Integra got $246 drag racing tickets. I was PISSED. Went to court to try and fight it, made the mistake of not getting a lawyer. Live and learn I guess.

I got pulled over for the same reason back way back in the late 90's
The cop said that I wasn't speeding put it was a "demonstration of speed", the judge said that "even though I was not speeding it was an agressive driving manuever". Knit picking kinda crap if you ask me.

Texas State Trooper hauled my *** to jail for racing in 2003. It cost me a night in jail, $500 fine and no license for 6 months. Definately not worth it for smoking an eclipse

Thats what I was thinking. I can see them getting pissed if you are running 80 or 100, but damn. Some of those super troopers are over the top.

MAXIMO why did you stop?

i was going down a road around here (not to be mintioned in case the cop post here) at about 100 in a 45 and a cop pulls behind me at night

i'm not sure exactly what i was thinking but i'm sure it went somewhere along the lines of **** it

i fliped the N2O switch and was at about 160 before the next intersection never saw the cop again

if your already moving there is know way in hell he's going to catch you unless it's the camaro guy that lives in arlington or the busa cop in dallas

i don't drive like that anymore that and another simular expirance slowed me down i guess i'm lucky

now for the guy that started the tread i would have stopped for that if you where only going 40

just my 2c
