RGV Shootout
RGV Shootout SouthTexasFbodies.com and Edinburg Internation Race Track are planning a Shootout in september.
It will most likely be on a Saturday, gates open at 1pm. Entry for F-Body's will only be $10.00 to go in and race.
The race will probably have to be a bracket type race. This will get as many cars racing as possible and make it fair for everyone. The Import guys always run bracket and it seems to work out really cool for them. Of course, winners will get prizes, trophy's and what not from the sponsors.
As an addition, one of our members that moderates texasdragracing.com has been working on "The Valley's Fastest Street Car" race. All contestants will meet at the Harlingen Mall and drive to the track. Cars will make 3 back to back passes, with no cool down time. The car with the fastest 3 pass average will be crowned "The RGV's REAL Fastest Street Car". The gathering at the mall can be from 10AM to Noon with everyone leaving at Noon for the track. Entry to this class will be seperate from the F-Body race. So if you drive an F-Body and want to run in this class, it will cost an additional $10.00.....
There will also be open Test & Tune for anyone who just wants to come out and race. For anyone not racing an F-Body, the track will charge the regular $5.00 extra to race. Unless you are entering the "Fastest Street Car" race. Then you pay $10 to enter and $10 to race.
That is the basic plan for a full day of racing, without a lot of down time. Putting something like this together takes time so I need some serious feedback. We are doing a pre-registration of the F-Body's? The Rio Grande Valley natives are doing a pre registration where the money and names are collected ahead of time but for those who come from outside of the valley we would like to just get more or less a count of who would like to participate.
