I agree I wish we hadn't PPV'ed the match.
[yawn] Sylvi vs Arlovski [/yawn]
Ortiz vs Shamrock: No denying this
(1) Shamrock ends up on his back in bad position quickly
(2) Ortiz proceeds to rain down elbows, all of which appear to connect well
(3) Shamrock appears to make no effort to block the elbows, or dodge the elbows after the second one connects.
(4) Ref stops it after at least 5-6 undefended haymaker (elbow) strikes to the head
(5) Shamrock jumps up to his feet quickly.
It blows just as bad for Ortiz...because now he has to live with the fact that many fans are gonna say he got the win on a BS stoppage. I'm sure givin the bad blood between the two...Ortiz would have much rather dropped a few more elbows, and opened up shamrocks head a little before they stopped the fight. Bottom line for me..no doubt in my mind given 2 more minutes thats what would have happened. ( and probably a lot less than 2 minutes ).
All of us watching seem to notice that although Shamrock jumped up quick, he was not very agressive in his contesting the decision, until a minute or so after the stoppage. Derek was was arguing with the ref for a minute or so before it seemed Shamrock really piped in. We all wondered if his bell got rung alot worse than it appeared, and he was doing a good job of hiding it. LOL.

You know there is no way he would do that...and ruin his chance for another grudge match. When Ortiz was calling for shamrock to come back , and they could do it again...you know Dana was thinking "STFU, STFU" LOL.

Ok peps I'm not sure if you guys really follow the fightrer as I do , not just watching the UFC's PPV, but in Ortiz post fight interview , he clearly shows he elbow is messed up from raining down elbow on Ken's Face Ortiz landed five consecutive forearms on the head of Shamrock, who was not defending himself.
“I was just doing my job, dropping elbows,” said Ortiz, 15-4, the former UFC light heavyweight champion. “He wasn’t responding or defending himself and Herb Dean did his job.”
Shamrock looked to get the job done himself as he came out throwing heavy punches as he bulled Ortiz to the fence. But once Ortiz got his bearings, he picked Shamrock up and slammed him to the mat, leading to the fight ending series of strikes.
Ortiz, agreed to fight Ken for a thired time in UFC62.
