First time I went out shooting with my SKS I was able to shoot 3" 3-shot groups at 100yds with the iron sites. Not too shabby for a gun designed 50 years ago, and actually manufactured over 30 years ago.
I'd still like to pick up an AK-47 to plink around with.

I think it might be the shooter. I shoot 2.5 inch groups at a hundred yards with iron sights, good enough for me. they are fun for the first few months then they just sit in your gun case......

I've got both a Russian made SKS(1952 Tula Arsenal) and a Chinese made SKS. The Russian made version is a much better made weapon but the Chinese version shots just as well.

i can shoot that out my *** with my hk 91
not gonna lie though, the ak is a decent rifle for the money. i see them selling here in NW houston all the time for 200-300 bucks. but i had one when i was 18, it jammed on me once so i sold it.
