Default Just got charged with Evading.

As the title says, on the way to work Saturday morning on my bike. I was speeding of course. I get just passed downtown on I-45 and see a cop driving the on the freeway about ahead of me. So I let off and go the speed limit, few minutes later a cop comes behind and pulls me over. I pull over, puts his car in front of my bike, and takes me straight to jail. I thought I was getting a speeding ticket.

I only have 2 speeding tickets ever and never been to jail. This is really scary, he charged me with Evading in a motor vehicle, a Felony. I have no prior record, I dont know whats going to happen. Im hoping for the best. Just left court this morning, and went to get a attorney.

This all comes at the wrong time.
#1 Just about to get a LME 408 put in my car next week after being down 2 months.
#2 Just acquired a new position at my job where I wont have to travel, because I just registered for school, going back to college fall semester.
#3 About to turn 25 years old, was looking forward to insurance drop in price.
#4 Had previously sold one of my bikes, and was about to put another one up for sale to concentrate on school and not worry about money. Pretty much was elimnating all my monthly bills.
#5 Just moved in to my new apartment last weekend and getting settled in.

Anyway, for anybody who has not been to jail. Its sucks so bad, I cant believe what kind of people there is out there. Nothing to brag about, dont say "I been to jail its not bad", BS it sucks.

Like I said hoping for the best, wish me luck. I will be selling my bikes, I dont even want to get a speeding ticket, its so easy to just go over the speed limit on these bikes. If anyone is interested PM me, not trying to make any money off them. 2004 ZX-10R Ninja and 2004 Honda RVT1000R RC51.

When you say speeding, how fast were you going?

I dont see how the charges could hold up if you were doing the normal 80 mph in Houston, plus you pulled over for him.

Thats messed up man, Good luck.

I got charged for evading back in 2001. I hired Joe Bailey of Hinton,Sussman,Bailey, and Davidson. $10,000 but he took care of everything. Wow the Power of Money. Joe Bailey is worth every penny. I actually memorized his number 713-864-4477

No, Im speeding anywhere from 80+ to 100+ in and out of little traffic. Pretty much looking in front of me. I did go the speed limit at times, I speed up when I see a straight away or curve(like where the Aquriam is at). He said was trying to pull me over back earlier dont know from where.

Have you ever had a cop car be behind you and did not realize it untill he was right there. I only slowed down when I saw I cop up ahead on the road which did not have its lights on and was driving normal. Only one cop car pulled me over and eventually another one came.

By the way, I do stupid things like speeding, we all do. Some more often and excessive then others. I have been pulled over on my car and bike several times speeding/not speeding and no ticket issued. I seen nice cops and bad cops in my opinion. I just pull over and get over with. I just speed on my bike over a longer period of time then in my car because traffic does not hold me up like it does in my car.

Unfortunately, it's your word against the cops, so he can say and make up whatever he wants. I fought a ticket all the way up to a jury trial and the sorry *** cop made up a whole story about how I was belligerent and abusive, etc. To top all of that off, I had a crappy attorney who was basically a waste of money. PM me if you want his name, so I don't slander on a public forum.

I definitely have been driving and not noticed a cop behind me, i can see that being even easier on a bike. Hope you get it taken care of. Find a good lawyer and you can probably get it reduced. I'd expect a driver saftey course as well as some community service.

You know this is ridiculous, I hate how cops pull the bullshit they do , and get overlooked when sometimes they provoke such BS. I am sorry to hear this man, and I am sure the bad rep of bikes had something to do with this eventhough there are some people that respect theirselves. Also I sent you a pm on the bikes.
