Does anybody on here have any way to look up a license plate or vin and tell me who it is currently registered to? I bought it from a guy who never transferred the title into his name and then lost it so I need to know who the owner before him was. I already checked with the state and they confirmed that it was not stolen, but if I can't find the guy I will have to go through getting a bonded title and a $500 motorcycle is not worth getting a $450 title for. I know that you can look it up at publicdata.com but I don't have an account there anymore.

isn't publicdata like $30? Cheaper alternative than $450 title. The old owner might not want to be contacted, it's not his responsibility anymore. The guy you bought it from should do the footwork for you.

I agree, but it sat in his garage for 10 years and he's not really willing to do much as far as footwork on it. I might have to break down and spend the $30, but I was hoping someone on here had already done so and would be willing to hook me up.
