More compression on what, my 69?? Thats what you get when you put RAIII heads on a 455. But then alot of people dont speak vintage Pontiac, but thats ok.

Also, in older Pontiac motors, since they rely on a bore/storke ratio that leans more toward making torque, too much compression actually works against itself slowing the engine down. You might not get much more than 550 hp out of a reliable 455, but making 600+ ftlbs is like falling off a log.
