Did the term actually start in the motorcycle world? I know that Harley owners refer to Japanese bike as "rice burners".
There are a couple WS6 cars around here with double-decker spoilers and one of them has neon. Looks like rice to me. Oh, and several camaro's with the big arched Supra looking spoilers. I always have the urge to go bitch-slap them.

Ive got a HKS carbon on my STi. Its a watermelon of a pipe but ****, for 18 HP I can look past it. I got Borlas on my WS-6 and would prob. have them on my STi if some1 would step up and make a nice lookin (smaller tips/ duel) exhaust for the Subies. Sorry if you have 2 look @ my exhaust at all but it is running 0-60 in 4.26 with very few mods. But in my opinion the front windshield BANNERS are pretty tacky.

I believe it started years ago when japanese motorcycles started coming to the states, the harley people called them 'rice burners'. It has evolved to Japanese cars, and now its a term for the type of modifications that some people do to their cars.
