They said they couldn't chase you, but they didn't say they couldn't shoot you Last time I checked, bullets where still faster than cars

That does not apply to DPS... try to outrun them and you will be in for a rude awakening. There was a guy in the pan handle that tried it and the officer took the shotgun and shot out his tires to stop him.

DPS is not playing around....

It seems a couple people missed the above quote from my first post. Just to make it clear, I think this new policy is complete crap.

Here's my reasoning: Sure, now it is almost impossible for an innocent person, or people, to be injured or killed in a high speed chase. BUT the truth is that MANY MANY other crimes are "discovered" during the course of the "routine traffic stop". Now those crimes will not be discovered.

You do the math - every guy that runs is free to commit more crimes.

I always say that you can outrun the cop, but you can't outrun the radio he uses!

Doesn't say they won't take your LP# and pick you up at the house the next day. There should just be a rule that 15 secs into the chase they just shoot your car and end it.

Haha. Wow. That's interesting.

Cops need to fire an adhesive that houses a tracking device inside onto vehicles.

Yeah, I was thinking that last night. Then I was thinking they should get some kind of probe on the front of their cars so they could touch the back of the car being chased and short out the electrical system. The only problem with that is that they'd have to penetrate all the plastic crap and actually hit something metal, which wouldn't be easy on a modern car...

Really I think they out to get that zapper thing mounted in a helicopter like on CSI Miami, because you know if the TV cops have it, it MUST be real....

They'll just get a warrant for you. You'll end up in jail anyway.

You can paint your gun Bright Pink or HOT yellow. Rob a bank and the law will not shoot at you. That color shows you have a toy GUN. Now you do not have to worry about being chased or shot at. Just change you license plate for a stolen one and you are free to go!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Our Justice System ranks up there high on IDIOT LIST.
