Default Legalty w/ Lighting?

Ok, before I get HARDCORE flamed by anyone for being a ricer.. I'm posting this for a FRIEND. I drive a muscle car ('86 t/a to be exact), and I think muscle cars look like CRAP w/ underglows, but my friend has an import and was wondering to what degree are underglows legal in Texas? We've looked everywhere, yet the only thing I found was a somewhat old document that said a few things like "no red underglow, and nothing that strobes. It must be a certain candlepower or less, and the bulb can't show* and some other assorted stuff. But then again, that was 05, and I doubt that's effective because he asked in a forum, and there was a debate whether that was true or not. He's also concerned about what is legal to have lit up in the interior as well if anyone can tell me. Once again, don't go flaming me yet, I'm not concerned, and trying to be a ricer or anything. Instead, I give my friend hell for being a ricer xD. Thanks everyone!

In Florida at least green was the only legal color (no strobing)... A friend got pulled over with green neons on his beater (just threw them on there for laughs) and literally got into a fight with the cop because the cop wouldnt admit to being wrong.

haha wow. thanks for alll the help everyone. Does anyoen have any proof, cuz i doubt my friend will believe just the first few things that come up in a forum. But if all else fails, wheenver the chance comes, I'll stop by the dps, because I'm just kinda curious myself. I might try putting interior lights.. just MIGHT. I'd probably clash, but I'll look into it.

Thanks again everyone.

i'm just going to guess here, so dont take it to heart and believe it is absolutly true, but i think any lighting that is under the car while your going down the street is illegal.

My understanding on the lighting of a vehicle. From the rear of the vehicle only red and amber lights may be visible. From the front only white and amber. This came from a waxahachie cop, but sometimes they interpet the law as they see fit.

haha Amen to THAT! xD. The only lighting I'd want t odo is maybe just headlights and interior...MAYBE. Even then, I've already spent a couple grand on performance, so it's not TOO bad.

1. Get new friends
2. Kick your current friend in the ballz for wanting street glo
3. Why would you suspect people HERE would know the laws governing ricer mods?

Streetglo = weaksauce

7rwhp max.

If you think that there is a chance something might be illegal, there is a better chance that it's illegal.

haha well...

1.) I've been considering it..

2.) It's on my to-do list.

3.) I figured a heavy forum like this would've had some info about Texas boards or laws.. it IS the Texas forum. hah

I think that there is a visability issue from like the distance of 50 feet from front or back. If they can see it at a cars driving distance in front or behind you....it's gonna get you a ticket.

isnt the humility bad enough as it is with other car enthusiast laughing at your homeboy as you and him roll by them, that you want cops to notice it too! lol
