Default Track near Waco?

I'm from kerrville and will be visiting a friend up there in December. Where is the best 1/4th track at up there?

Also, are there any that are especially lenient on safety equipment? My car will be running mid 11s and does not have a roll bar/cage.

There are 3 tracks in the Waco area

1) Ennis...Texas Motorplex...best in the area but farthest away
2) Temple Academy Dragway....iffy track prep
3) Prairie Hill...outlaw track...decent prep but narrow, dark and rough shutdown

Which of the 3 would be most likely to not kick me off the track for not having a cage?

Ennis is the only one you might have a problem...TAD should not give you any issues
Prairie Hill doesn't care

Go to Temple academy... They are not to strict.

Prairy hill is a great place to go if you like having Cow patties in your shut down area and Drunks making a pass before you with all there trash blowing all over the track from there pick up truck.....

Now if tech was not a problem Ennis would be the best bet. But tech is enforced for everyones safety..

Temple sucks and plus the water box at Temple runs down the side of the hill its on and you cross like a river of water literally. I run better times at Prairie Hill. That might just be me though. Let me know when you come down here so we can set something up. There are about 10 LSX's that I run around with. Lemme know!

I'm not real familiar with track rules..but I have seen countless Z06s and Vipers run mid 11s with no problems, and no safety equipment...save a helmet at all. It kind of get under my skin they are allowed to go just because they are stock, but how is it safer for them then it is for me? I'm not about to put a 5 point cage in my daily driver.

My favorite part of the Temple dragstrip is the tech inspection. Oh wait, there isn't none.

Yeah, it's easier just to walk up to the guy and ask "what number do you want me to write on my car".

I'm planning on hitting TAD on November 4th. For better or worse. I haven't run my car there in about 1 1/2 years.

TADs track prep sucks ***. I would go to PH the track prep is better and you can hook up unlike TAD. The shut down is a little bumpy but its not that bad, and for being lenient on safety my buddy has a car that runs 10.5 and he has no cage.

I've heard enough negatives about PH that I don't even want to go. It may be fine for pickups and 4 wheelers, but a slicks/skinnies car that's trapping 130+.... no way in hell I'm going to that track.

And TAD "can" hook - but it will not on Friday nights, guaranteed. I will only go on Saturdays.

A run at TAD

going through the traps at 105 is a little different than going through at 125+
I do not like the shut down at all at PH and the track is nothing more than an old airstrip

still have yet to see proof of said 10.5
