Nudge it back and up to let it rest on the cowling and you can move it whereever you need to in order to get to the torq head bolts. Then when you go to put the car back together, you simply put the torx head bolts on the passenger side struts and the 13mm bolts on the drivers side. Nudge your master cylinder back into place and tighten it all up.
Thats what I did on mine. And I believe this is outlined in the book referenced in one of the earlier posts...

Yours must have needed the pull because the collar 'jammed' it when being pressed in. Once the collar was depressed fully on all sides of mine it literally popped out on its own.
