Default hardwire a radar.....

who knows how to hardwire a radar and will be willing to help, just got one off a friend of mine, but i dont want the wires everywhere. or if yall know of any shop. lmk

I hardwired my Passport 8500. I am in Spring. Let me know if you would like some help. It is really easy.

what detector do you have? if its an escort, they have a special kit so you can have the mute button mounted remotley

P.S. - You don't have to have the remote mute for the X50, I didn't (before I ripped it out and bought another V1 ).

no, you dont technicallly 'need' their special kit, but you'd have to be able to crimp an RJ-11/12 connector.

cragar, where do you have the actual detector mounted? i have mine above the rearview mirror. you cant even see it if you are, say for instance, standing next to the window asking me for my license and proof of insurance. i'm still looking for a good place to mount the remote though. right now i got it down by the lighter, and its too low.

Sorry, I didn't explain. That pic is not my car (I have traction control), thats the install I did on Thomas' (1LSWON) car. His detector, as well as both of my V1's, are just to the left of the rear view mirror.

lets_fly - Just buy a hard-wire and do it yourself.
