BTW - Make sure you wait untill the car that's staged takes off before you do your burnout, and drive around the water box too (back into it, pull out of it a foot or so, then burn). He's going to wave you up there before the cars take off, but wait untill they do before you roast 'em. I was confused on this my first time there.

Nope both HMP and HRP are closed.
Lonestar is the only option that I know of close to H-Town.
Be careful though. The track can be questionable if there's not enough heat in it to get the tires to stick.

Houston Raceway Park in Baytown is open Friday and Sunday. I talked to
them in person.....
Anywhere you go in a vert, you will need a helmet at the very least,
the faster you go the more that will be required. If it is close to stock
you will only need a helmet for now........
