Default LS Based opinions.

I think I'm gonna build another LS1 for my rustang, just wanted some seasoned veterans opinions on what would be a good weekend driver, but still be fairly nasty on the dope.


I was thinking a 383 with a healthy cam.....but I'm not sure.

LS1s make damn good power h/c, I would save some coin, build a good forged stock cube motor, put rest of the money in a good heads and cam set up and spray the **** out of it. You can make 440RWHP+ all motor, then spray on top of that be a nasty little street car. Look how well these stock bottom end cars have ran, now imagine a good forged bottom end. 4mulaJoe had that in his old 01, that bitch ran its *** off, with not the best heads at all, not compared to whats out there now atleast but still his car ran 11.00@123 with a soft launch.

So you would stick with a stock CI setup, rather than a 383 or somthing of the sorts?

383's suck *****.... I've done a couple that made over 500 but that was with a fairly agressive set-up. Put a H/C LS2 in it for now (And don't skimp on the heads etc. get good ****) save up your money and get a big motor later....

I say blow all your money in the heads and then build the bottom end around it. An LS2 with L92 heads should make a nice budget setup that still lays down nice numbers.

Craig, as of right now, I'm waiting on the chassis to come back from auction so I can drive it home and gut it. lol.

Then I'm guessing I'm gonna go Forged LS2, with a nice heads/cam setup. We'll know pretty soon.

LS2 bottom end, L92 heads, new L92 carb-style intake, your choice EFI or carb. All fitting under a stock Pukestang hood

Get the L92 block too it is a 6.2L block and its alum. With a 4" crank I think that is like a 414 or 418. If I had it to do over again thats what I would do.
