camping/fishing around houston/katy area? im about to be making a trip to texas and have been attempting to find a good campground with some good fishing (and preferably a boat launch) i would like to be as close to katy as possible. if you all know of anywhere please let me know.

last time i went camping was at lake somerville. they have at least one boat ramp. i dont know how close you want to katy, your probably going to be driving at least an hr n a half to find a good camp spot. most good places to camp/fish are east/northeast from katy, once you start getting in to the east texas piney woods physiography. conroe is good, very populated, never been to lake hosut, but i know its populated too. lake livingston i head is cool. check the texas parks n wildlife website for all the info you need. hope that helps!

Nicest area around Houston is the Cagle campground on Lake Conroe. Its in Sam Houston National Forest...They also have some badass dirtbike trails through the forest.
