Default Water pumps

My water pump started leaking fluid through the front of it. Is this a common problem with ls1 water pumps? I have the new one on and it is fine I just did not know that was something I would have to replace.

if its leaking out the front, through the weep hole, then it was going bad. It is designed to do that so you know when the bearing is going out and needs to be changed.

Like mentioned, its a sign that the WP is on the way out. I would replace it immediately. From my experience, some leaking WPs perform normally while other might die immediately. If you have to drive it, keep your eye on the coolant temp.

He said he already has the new one on, so no worries.

If you drive the car forever, you will eventually have to replace every part. Moving parts have a lifespan..you water pump being a moving part, will only last so many operating hours. Electrical parts are the same....they won't last forever.

My car only has 50,000 miles on it thats why I was shocked. I'm trying to get it covered by warrenty. Hey they already took care of my motor.

50K isn't bad for hard driven miles, on my old TA I got about 65K

My water pump went out at 24k. I wasn't too happy and the dealer didn't want to replace it under warranty. I had to talk to them for a while before they covered it
