For anyone interested, the IFL is hosting an event here in February. More budget friendly, and better matches, IMO. Coaches include Pat Militech, Don Frye, and Bas Rutten .

http://www.ifl.tv/event.aspx?id=5

Kind of like College Football vs. Pro Football .

I went to one of those Saul Soliz fights at the Verizon Wireless center. The fights were pretty cool, but the reffing was a joke and to top it all off there was a brawl in between one of the fights . I grabbed my wallet and went outside until it was contained. Pretty shady, but it was cool seeing the fights upclose.

IFL is the karate points thing right?
If so im not a big fan of that, a little boring for me..IMO.

I looked up the ticket prices for UFC.. good seats(floor) are 750 bucks. Don't think i'll be goin to one anytime soon.

The IFL is based on a team of 5 MMA fighters that battle another team, individually. The winner is the team that wins the most fights. Each team has 5 different fighters in 5 different weight classes from lightweight to heavey weight. IIRC, the rules that differ from the octagon are that no elbows are allowed.

For a "Superfight" Carlos Newton and Matt Lindland are fighting. Pretty cool if you ask me. If you watch the UFC much, too many of the fights, especially the undercard fights, are setup with cans, or guys that are basically given a freebie. For example, CroCop and Rampage are fighting guys that have no chance. The IFL fights are a little more evenly matched, IMO.

Pricing is from 30-150 bucks.
