Update:

If your car came with a powerglide, 3spd, etc. from the factory you can run in the "street class"

I can here the excuses now
when I drive my car 75 miles to get there,
make 5 passes, pony up a bunch of high dollar late models that only get taken out once a week and have never been rained on,
then drive it 75 miles back home,
a bunch of people crying because I am on ET Streets, and pull 1.4X 60ft times in my 26 year old white trash beater street car that I drive everywhere.

Typical excuses why its not a street car,
NO AC
Race Seats
29.5 x 11.5 ET Streets
Spool w/ 4.33 Gears
No Powerbrakes,
No Power Steering,
Radio only plays Cassettes & FM stations, Can't switch to AM,
Fuel Pump is louder than most cars exhaust,
new one ==> it has a 3 speed automatic and an 8" converter

Reasons why I call it a streetcar,
I drive it on the streets,
I drive it to and from the track,
Doesn't run hot ever
Still has working Factory Gauges,
Factory Shifter,
Full interior, front and back seats, doorpanels,
full glass all the way around,
registered and inspected,
I carry insurance on it,
No Front Runners, 15x7 w/ 235's
Runs on 93 Octane
I drive it everywhere

Only problem I really have to worry about is if I make 5-6+ or more back to back full 1/4 passes in a row, without waiting in between it will boil the transmission fluid,
I have done that twice on the streets cause I got too excited about putting people out.

Everyone knows, If you could use the AM channel you would be in the Street Class
