Just be careful, you give a lawyer some money, they say they took care of it..... and the next time you get pulled over, theres a warrant out for your arrest

I think the point of him asking about a lawyer is that he's pretty sure he wasn't going 53... If you had actually read, you'd see he understands he was speeding, but I sure as hell wouldn't want to pay for a ticket for a speed I know I wasn't going.

He's right.

Wildbill none of your posts in this thread have any relevance or helps the guy out.

The same thing happened to me about 6 months ago. My radar detector went off before I rounded a corner to see a cop stopped at a stop sign. I wasn't going 5 over but somehow the bastard stopped me for 11 over with his rear mounted radar? I hired an attorney for $100 and sat in a room while he got the judge to dismiss it.

Yeah, I had no idea there was rear radar but oh well, I'm really hoping this can be dismissed

When i went through the police academy were were told that we had to show the person that we pulled over the evidence against them! That by the way is a law too, any person that is charged or accused of a crime in the State of Texas, has the right to see the evidence of that crime brought before them. With that being said i didn't go on to be a police officer. I went over seas for private government work instead! So its been awhile and the laws might have changed!
In my opinion, Dude you said yourself that you were speeding, in a residential area of all places thats almost as bad as a School zone(Bone Head!!!). If you take it to court you have a shot at beating it, but you also have a shot at getting pinched. Either way you are paying money and either way it will go off your record, unless the judge gets pissed then who knows( suck it up and pay the man, You were wrong for speeding point blank!) The Cop sounds like a complete ******* i have dealt with many myself... Totally unprofessional, but on the other hand give the guy a break, think about all the people that are ******** to cops for whatever reason just because they can, most of the time the officer just grins and bears it! Officers lose their bearing sometimes!
Sorry for the long winded speech but i have a soft spot for people in uniforms they do the jobs no one else has the guts to do!

oh yeah if your that pissed about the officer behavior call the police department of the officer that pulled you over and ask to speak to the shift supervisor... Tell him your side of things and i promise you that if your side is legit that supervisor will go chew that officers ***!

I had a cop get really unprofessional with me once, i called the supervisor as soon as i got home and chewed his ***(I don't recommend this i got lucky) 3# days later i got a letter from the cop himself and the supervisor apologizing for his behavior and that evening the supervisor called me asking if that was satisfactory or would i like the officer to be reprimanded and put on suspension.

Why do people always have to fight radar. THIS IS NOT A NEW TECHNOLOGY! Been around for some time guys and if it was so flacky then it would not be used. Hell they can use radar to track a bullet and nock it our of the air!

you said your self that you didnt FEEL like you were doing 53 but you have no clue how fast you where going so chances are you were doing 53.

As far as the officer showing you the gun I am not sure what they could even show you. I would hope an officer on here would explain this but he hits you with the radar and the speed comes up but how long does it stay? And why would he have to show you this. And as far as showing you the evedice he has against you I dont think this is true. If he is pacing you on the road and pulls you over what would he show you? He sees you run a red light what is he going to show you? Get my point. He is the evedince standing infront of you.

Also from the way your trying to get out of it and that you asked to see the gun and felt that you were not speeding I am betting you had some attitude in your voice when the officer came up is why you got attutude back. Reasone why I could never be a cop becasue if I clocked you doing 53 in a 30 and you gave me even a hint of attitude I would lay into.

Now Im not saying you need to pay up and take it like a man. I would get a lawyer and try to get out of like everyone else. Not to beat the cop or county but the insurance is crazy. But at lest own up to like a man and stop blaming the cop for doing his job.
