They are all real oils. Synthetic oils have detergents added into them. That is the only difference. Now go to school and learn something.

That is because, you my friend have a HOOMPTY!

. If I was to go to the next level Id only use Royal Purple. Out of all the products they make for radiator, tranny, rear, oil, powersteering, etc. I seen an LS1 car, stock, they changed all oils etc to Royal Purple and it gained 25-30 RWHP. No lie, seen it.
That number goes up every year.

Next year we should be 30-35

I would go with no oil, it just slows your motor down...

I did the M1 thing, got tired of spending the money when I would hit 3 months before it was time to change it, so I went with GTX and I would still hit 3 months before it was time to change, but atleast its easier on the wallet. Ive also heard a few on here who run the walmart "Super Tech" brand as its just re-badged Quaker State.

Go with Amsoil, that is what I used for my 408, just make sure to get their oil filter as well...

You don't have to change every 3 months, and you don't have to change every 3000 miles,
I know you may think you are being extra sweet to you car by doing so,
but you can just look at your oil and see when it changes,
I have gone 6 months without an oil change in my race car and other cars, because when they are sitting in the garage and oil getting driven once a month, always for less than 100 miles, the oil is not going bad.

My friends LS1 w/Mobil 1, went 9,000 miles with the oil still looking great!
before we changed it.

AMSOIL is NOT based on Mobil1 with more additives. Never has been. Some of the confusion may be from the fact that AMSOIL purchases some of the base stock from Mobil Chemical but that does not mean that it has anything in common with Mobil1. AMSOIL picks and choose what base stocks that they feel will work best in a particular oil and they use it. All AMSOIL oils except the XL line are PAO GrpIV with some V in a few.

Yeah, every time ive changed the M1 in my car it always came out looking horrible. On top of that I was always told that you cant just go by the looks of things while using synthetic. It wasnt the fact that I didnt drive the car. It was my daily driver. Just couldnt rack up that many miles in a **** hole college town.

i believe patman recommends penzoil platinum since GC is getting harder to find

"As far as what oil to use, I'd go with Pennzoil Platinum 5w30. It's probably the best oil on GM's 4718M list:"
