Front license plates
they are required in Texas, and i think the law says it has to be on the front of the car, but im not sure. i have been driving my car for two years with no front plate, and no cops have givin me any **** about it.
I have been pulled over and had my car searched, all because i didnt wanna put my plate on my car. My LP stays on my car now..Its not worth it especially if you tend on having a couple of drinks at a friends house or whatever.It does look like crap with it on though.. 
I just got a ticket for it but i was kinda a dick so i expected it. I have it on my passenger wiper. Law doesn't say it has to be on the bumper just says two plates, front and rear of the vehicle. We'll see if the cop shows up in court to see if i'm goig to keep that ticket or not

I've got mine mounted on the air dam under the bumper. I had the LP pull me over and give me **** about it saying it has to be on the bumper, and I knew that wasn't true, so he said he was gonna have a state trooper come out and look at it. Trooper came out gave it one look and said, "Legal." And the LP freaked out, the Trooper said it has to be visible from 2ft and 50ft, even if it requires you to get down on your hands and knees to see if from 2ft.

Over 4 years with no front plate, been pulled over multiple times and it's only been mentioned twice. Never told me I had to have it, they just say "No front plate?" and I reply that they're correct. Never a verbal warning for it either.

I got a warning for mine (DPS) even though it is mounted on the airfdam. Its visible from the front, but you basically would have to lay on the ground to see it because the car is so low.

The law only states that it has to be displayed towards the front of the car (yes I have read it). Meaning it can be in the windshield, but it has to be visible from the front, so I don't think the air dam would be legal in most officers opinion.
What I posted was almost exactly what was in the transportation code. It doesn't say towards the front" it says front. Trust me though I believe it's ok as long as it's facing forward IMO.

Talked to a Trooper today who said that there is nothing wrong with it being in the front window as far as he was concerned. Long as it faces the front of the vehicle and can be seen.
Its all in how the officer that pulls you over sees it. I had to put mine on this week cause I have gotten pulled over for it too many times now. Aftre I get it dismissed though im putting it on the airdam, never thought of that one. I might even ask when they inspect it when im getting the ticket dismissed.
