Carr will get picked up somewhere as a backup. Williams might be done. That knee injury still isn't right, from what I've heard.

We will see how well Matt S. will play behind that line. Carr was not that bad, he held the ball just a tad too long. He shoulden't feel bad, the Texans paid him all that money only to let him go. That is funny.

What a clusterfuck of an organization. "Don't draft Young or Leinart because Carr will be fine"..."Don't draft Bush because Davis is a 1000+ yard per season back"...release both players one year later...get nothing.

Nice strategy...or maybe the Texans' management would refer to it as, "strategery"?

Released Molds as well a few weeks ago, so now we're back to a single threat (A. Johnson) receiver team...with an unproven backup QB throwing to him.

For the sake of the Texans, I hope it works out.

I must be among the minority here, but I really like the move to get Schaub and let go of Carr. I of course have never been a fan of Carr's and was against drafting him from the moment I heard his name mentioned with the Texans. But I digress.

To me, picking up Schaub will free up the first pick for either a good Olineman or even a Wideout to replace Moulds with. True Schaub is unproven, but there are a lot of teams that were wanting to take a chance on him. They must have seen something.

I agree too that the Texans have made mistakes and not had a total team put together, but there also comes a time where the blame everyone but Carr boat just won't float anymore. I think they were at that point. I have seen lesser QB's with less help up front be successful and the O-line doesn't account for a lot of the stupid mistakes that Carr made over the past few years.

I'm excited about the upcoming season.

Yeah. I hear what you're saying. I also think Schaub's probably a pretty good pickup, but I just hate that we wasted the #1 pick last season, and signed Carr to a huge extension when he was still worth something in a trade.
That's just horrible management. I really think the THE main reason the Texans have been a losing team for 5 straight seasons is because of the management.

carr will be a starter again within the next two seasons. its fun for the texan fans to use him as the scapegoat, but the O-line and the rest of the organization suck terribly. he was the best thing you guys had.

EXACTLY.

The way the went about getting Schaub was all wrong too. He was a RFA and was tendered as a 1 & 3 round pick... that means all the Texas had to do was offer any 1st round pick and any 3rd round pick to pick him up. They could have traded back in the first round (ie Bears), picked up a 2nd and/or 3rd round pick for that and used that low 1st rounder and a 3rd for Schaub... so at most your out 1 pick instead of 2 #2's.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Texans draft something useless, like a backup punter, in the first round. Mario who?

Schaub is a great pick up, esp for carr. Hopefully they will figure it out by next years draft, and hope they dont **** this years up.
