its ok to drive it like that... but will run light complete ****, use lots of gas, and backfire etc....
When the SES light blinks it means its a random misfire... more than one cylinder is not firing correctly.....
Most of the time its b/c a spark plug wire is burnt... or b/c a front o2 is bad....
i've had this happen to me more than once... and everyone always assumes that since its an LT1 THAT ITS GOTTA BE THE opti......
bank 2 sensor 1 is the front passenger one as stated earlier... easy fix.

Oh yea, SES flashing means that your cats are in danger of getting seriously fucked up.
I am willing to bet that your car runs alright with casual driving, but when you give it a little go go juice it starts to run like crap.........

I still think you should check and double check your ignition. Just because the wires are plugged in properly doesn't mean they are functioning correctly.
After my header install I had the same problems you are having. Car ran extremely sluggish, missfire, etc. As it turns out, one of the ignition wires had become partially separated within the insulation from the connector. Replaced the whole set of wires and it ran like a champ.
It doesn't hurt to replace factory wires to X off your possible cause of problems

Pull the code again. It might be something different if the O2 is workin' now. If it's a particular cylinder, then it's an ignition problem most likely (bad plug, wire, or connection on that cylinder). If it's random, then it may be an opti issue.

I took it to lethal performance. Took them about 2 minutes to find that it is the #8 spark plug wire. It is sitting on my header. I must have moved the wire when I was messing with my AC line the prev week.
