i understand your point with not wanting to stir up **** with the neighbors if you arent 100% sure its their cat. you may want to try a humane animal trap so you can ID the cat. i doubt they are expensive. then you can capture the cat and wait for the neighbors to put 'lost cat' signs up aroudn the neighborhood... then you can collect the reward!

Not bad. I started thinking about the trapping idea....I bet a catch a lot more than cats.... the dogs have already killed 3 oppossums and treed a raccoon in the backyard.
Duct tape layed where the cat goes turned sticky side up.
I had a cat that would jump into a window and rattle the blinds and wake me up. I used masking tape. It still woke me up, but I got a laugh out of it. Broke her of the habbit after a few times.
Moth ***** are supposed to keep them away also.
