I don't have $600 smackers to drop on a phone. I don't care how clever it is. Need > Want.

I've got an 8125 HTC (Cingular/AT&T) and it does what it needs to. I would like an iPhone, but the price is the killer. . .

the price is pretty bad, im hoping they'll offer a few hundred off for a 2 year contract signing

300/400 sounds much better

Thats probably what it will be. I'm guessing without contract, 499 & 599, and with contract probably 299 & 399. . .

I cannot say anything that is not already public as I had to sign an NDA, but I got to play with a production iPhone for about 10 minutes the other day. I am not a phone or gadget geek at all, but this thing is just awesome. Intuitive, feels great in the hand, and works just like on TV. It is very very cool, and I am planning to treat myself to one.

I believe I read that there will not be a discount for signing a contract with this phone.

Seems gimmicky and trendy. I'm wondering how stable it will be. The Palm OS is awful. My WM 5.0 has been rock solid (not a single reset in over a year of usage).

FWIW, the touch screen is a cool feature at first. However, it is pretty tough to dial with your thumb (with one hand). With no hard keyboard i think its not going to be fun to use.

Anyone looking to donate 7 or 800 bucks to try one can give us a review .

Right but with out a contract it costs $325.....so I would sell it for like $275(I bought it outright w/o a contract so I paid almost $360 for it so I couldnt sell it for $75.....)

I have the same phone - does your touch pad give you problems? For me, where you touch on the screen and where the phone recognizes you touching are two VERY different places and I am constantly having to recalibrate the screen just for it to go back 5 minutes later.

What I do like on the 8125 is the keyboard that slides out from behind the screen. I have thick fingers so the treo's and crap are too hard to type on, and this keyboard is perfect.

Anyone know what the keyboard on the iPhone is going to be? Just a touch screen or is it an actual keyboard?

I'll pass. My Razr still works fine, even though I've dropped it on concrete more times than I can count.

no its a postpaid service...we dont offer prepaid....check it out, prices are really good for unlimited multimedia services and honestly it kicks the shjit out of cingular who charges an *** load for unlimited data....i know ive worked for both companies.....

as for the html thing how long do u think it will take the iphone to display a webpage when their 3g network moves 5x slower than an evdo network??? the answer is a really long time with shitty loading....if i were u id play with active ones of both before u make ur decision...ull find the ocean to be very satisfying for less than half the cost...300 vs 700
