construction contractor? I told my friend that it means being a registered Home Builder/Remodel with the Texas Residential Construction Commission. Is that correct?

IIRC.... no such licensing body.

Only specialty contractors, including HVAC, fire sprinkler systems, plumbing, electricians and well drilling/pump installation specialists, need to be licensed in Texas.

Home builders are not licensed, but are required to register with the state.

I didn't think so. I was just making sure. I am a licensed fire alarm technician with Texas FAL (recently expired) and NICET Level One Fire Alarm Systems.
