Default what do i do about a ticket?

i got a ticket 6/8/07 for 50 in a 40. i have no complaints about the ticket or anything because i was speeding and the officer was cool as hell.

i just don't know what to do, i've never had a ticket before and want to take defensive driving.

im only 17 so do i go to the court date on the ticket and they tell me what to do? or do i take the course before my court date and bring them proof that i have taken it?

can somebody shine some light on this for me?

it was in pasadena by the way on the way to the track. the cop didn't say a word about the tint, no front plate, or nitrous bottle in the backseat. he complemented the car alot and even said it was a shame they quit making em

(option 1)go to court and ask for Deferred, dont get caught speeding again in Pasadena for 3 months and pay court costs.

(option 2) Go to court and tell them you have not taken defensive driving in the last year, and request DD, and pay court costs.

The cop should have told you exactly what to do. Also, there should be information on the ticket about contacting the court or further instructions on how to deal with it.

Not that I know from experience... ;-)

just go to the courthouse before the due date and tell them you want to take defensive driving. you'll pay something like $100 in fees, then you go take a DD course within the next 3 months and return the paperwork to them. done deal.

do deferrred. If you don't get another ticket, it will save your defensive driving for another time. You can USUSALLY only take DD once per year in any jurisdiction...

could i take defensive driving this time, and save my deferred?

i was under the impression that you could only get out of 1 ticket per year, no matter how

there should be a phone number on the ticket or sometimes they give you another piece of paper with the court info. so call that number give them your ticket number and ask what your options are. be polite. good luck!

yes, you can take def. driving and "save" your deferred or visa versa. but def. driving is easier i think.

if you get 1 ticket in Pasadena, one in Deer Park, and one in Laporte in the same week, technically you COULD NOT take defensive driving for all 3, BUT since the three cities are all operated on different computer systems its DOABLE... don't ask how i Know

he is right, if you want to do DD go to the court before you court date and just talk to the people in the office and they will tell you what to do. if you wait until your court date, you will be there forever waiting in line to see the judge

your first ticket, huh? well... this is the beginning of many more. After your first one. it seems like you begin to get pulled over more often.

your cheapest bet is to ask for deferred ajudication which puts you on a probation period for x amount of months you wont pay anything. if you request dd youll pay to get your state driving record, the dd class and about 90+ dollars to the court just to take deferred.....if this is indeed your first speeding ticket you should have a very good chance of getting it good luck

have you ever gotten a ticket before....the only reason i ask is because the date on the ticket isnt an actual court date that date is to enter a plea and then if you so desire ask for a court date which will be later.....there is another way around the system if youd like to know more you can pm me.
