Superman was bested both by Doomsday and Batman (who, apparently, can defeat any given super hero in any comic universe)
Azrael as Batman > Bruce Wayne as Batman ... vengeance for the win
Silver Surfer isn't completely bad ***, given the fact that his successor Thanatos weilded both the Infinity Gauntlet and the Power Cosmic at the same time... while Silver Surfer could likely defeat Superman in any given scenario, there are many others who could do it too.
Incredible Hulk would look at Superman and laugh at him, then throw him so far into space it'd take superman a month to come back... he'd laugh at his eye abilities as angering said Hulk just makes him larger and stronger. Superman has great hearing abilities, therefore, can easilly be made deaf when Hulk claps his hands and sends out a blast out sound stronger than a sonic boom. Not to mention, Superman isn't too flexible, he's the man of steel, and Hulk can bend steel into a pretzel with his big toes.
Professor X would obliterate his mind, thus allowing for ease of desctruction
Spawn would teleport him into some alternate universe where his powers were useless or summon Kryptonite from his suit/hell and destroy him
Whoever mentioned apocalypse is an idiot because apocalypse sucks tomatoes

Galactus could just recreate Krypton and send Superman back to his home planet as a child, then destroy him just as easilly there, on a mere whim.

They have already met once, an it really wasn't even a battle. It was billed as the creature who could move mountains against the man who can move planets.
superman took everything the Hulk could throw at him, and basically just stood there.
It was Thanos that weilded the th Infinity Gauntlet, he is the half brother of Starfox, one of the Avengers at the time. They are Titans. Adam Warlock took the Gauntlet from him an weilded the ultimate power until he decided that it was too much for any one person to handle. He then dispersed the infinity gems among the Infinity Watch.
