Question I read somewhere that if someone called the cops because you are having a party in your house, they're able to walk in since they "have reason to believe illegal activity is going on"? (underage drinking)

I watched this video put out by the ACLU about restricting cop's actions when it comes to your rights. Not a bad video IMO...can probably find it on youtube.

WRONG!!!! If you don't let them in, they can't come in. If they do, ANYTHING they find is inadmissable in court. That's the bottome line.
However, if they get there and it's after 10PM and they hear excessive noise, that's against the law (disturbing the peace). Then they can go in because you're doing something illegal. But if a neighbor called and said you were having a crack party, as long as you don't let the popo in and there's no loud noise, smoke away crackie.

I DESPISE the ACLU. They have done SOME groups good however, their stance on illegal immigration is incorrect. They have their moments, unforuntatly the bad far outweighs the good that they have done.

They are not allowed in under any circumstances unless you let them in or they have a warrant. No probable cause bullshit. In Texas there is a King of your own domain law. Which means what happens in your house is your business unless John Law has a probable cause along with a warrant to search your house. No Warrant, No open door. I have actually been at parties and had the cops pull up and just tell us through the door to be quiet and get designated drivers so they dont have to come back with a warrant.
yall the law has changed in the past year or two. in any case just be careful and honest with law enforcement. doesn't mean you can't bend the truth 
trust me on this one...any there are plenty of loopholes for cops anyway to do what they feel needs to be done.
for example, if a officer sits outside your place and sees a few people walking into the residence without knocking (basically letting themselves in), they can claim that it is public territory or something along those lines and they can enter themselves without knocking.
