Default New clutch is in!

Finally got the clutch install done. Here's a pic of the halfway mark during install. I'm so F'in glad that I didn't attempt this without a lift!!!! Anyway, I'm breaking it in nice and easy, but this clutch feels awesome! Pedal is firm, but not too stiff and it engages nice and strong about an inch and a half off of the floor. Jason with Texas Drivetrain Performance did the work and supplied the clutch. I can tell you that this was an incredible deal, so PM me if you're in the market for a clutch.

What clutch did you get, I am having an LS7 Clutch and LS2 Flywheel installed over at G-Force right now. Lets just say I hope it does alot better than that POS Spec Stage 3 that lasted a whole 8k miles.

Which clutch did you install?

A lift makes any clutch swap less crappy. However, it really gives a break to the people with rear mounted transmissions! Take it from me--someone who's done the install on his back in the driveway .

I have spoke with them. There are tons of others just like me with the same exact issues. I am gonna send it back to them for them to "look" at it. They will more than likely feed me some BS about how it was the installer/driver error, anything to take the blame off them. The funny thing about it is the people who are having the same issues have had theirs for about the same amount of time and had the exact same thing happen to them(pedal slowly started to release higher and higher untill it began to slip). All I know is that I have been driving manual transmission mustang/camaros for the last 7 years and have yet to have a clutch last less than 40k miles. I spent like $1,000 on parts and labor for that Spec and less than a year later Im back at square one. Oh and BTW I broke it in for like 1,000 miles, hell thats how long it took for the damn thing to stop chattering!!!

Replied ,

For what its worth, there are several techniques to choose from regarding the clutch swap. I dropped the complete rear cradle, brakes, axles, etc all in one piece when I replaced my master and slave.
