Are you serious? 3000+ hits, 20 years in one club, and one of the most stand up players in the organization, and he SHOULDNT make the hall?
Dude, you aggies really are dense.

I also think this is great news for the Astros. With Biggio announcing his retirement, maybe they can seriously look at scrapping this season and rebuilding. Sort of a changing of the guard.

Biggio, is more than deserving of the hall of fame.
- 7 time All Star. Only player to ever be an All Star as a catcher and another field position.
- 5 NL Silver Slugger awards.
- 6th all time in doubles. Might be 5th by the end of the season. 1st all time in doubles by right handed hitters.
- 1st all time in the NL in lead off home runs.
- 3000+ hits and counting.
- Only player in MLB history with at least 600 doubles, 3,000 hits, 250 homers and 400 steals.
- In 1997, became the first player in baseball history not to hit into a single double play while playing an entire 162 game season. Two players, Augie Galan (1935) and Dick McAuliffe (1968), had previously played an entire season with the same feat, but did not play in as many games in their respective seasons.
- In 1997, scored 146 runs, which is the most of any National League player since the Phillies' Chuck Klein scored 152 runs in 1932.
And on and on. He also has several awards for his community service and what not. The guy has great stats, and unlike a lot of current players, he played the game the right way, and gave back to the community to boot.
Definite Hall of Fame material.

If I was the other teams batters, i'd seriously just step back in respect and let him take the 9.
Hats off to a World Class Athlete, and an all out great guy. I got to play golf with him once at the Inaugural Astros Golf Tourney at Wildcat a few years ago. Definitely don't get any better than that man.
