No, he still works there and is a salesman/tuner. The young guy Gary who used to be a salesman is now the owner. I talked to Chuck two days ago, we are replacing broken pistons and rings. They are still honoring pre-existing warranties so I assume the lifetime tune is still in effect also.

Good to know.

That was one thing I thought about.

How can you expect "lifetime retunes" if a company were to go out of business or get sold? Lifetime is the company lifetime, not your own lifetime.

I would be willing to bet the old owner is still the owner I've seen this at several shops where they pretend to change management to clear some of the bad relations.

I would hope that they would honor it as its the same company name and still has the same tuner. Most people were paying Chuck to tune, not one of the mechanics. If he still uses the same laptop and has your stuff saved then I would expect him to honor it. That would be the right thing to do.

My piston broke due to an error and they are paying to have the correct pistons put in, have the block bored and getting my heads fixed. If they are honoring that warranty, I would assume that they are still honoring the retunes.

This is where my skills shine...
It shows that Charles is the claimed managing member of the Limited Liability Company
(with my experience, 50+% of the time, this is the owner of the entity aforementioned).

P.S. - They also aren't in good standing with the TX Secretary of State, so legally, they shouldn't be operating in Texas anyways(without filing reports with the TX SOS and paying the associated fee's, of course).

Everyone is always trashing Chuck. He has always done a good job for me and has stood behind his work.

I've never had any dealings with HPE, so I don't know any of them or how they'll handle it, but I have some experience with companies changing names. It's pretty much up to the new owners whether or not they honor stuff like "lifetime deals".

I bought a stereo system from Mobile One several years ago. New head unit, amp, speakers. I also got the extended warranty. A few months later, a speaker blew. I went to Mobile One to replace it, under the terms of the warranty. I discovered that they were bought out by another company, and that my warranty would not be honored. So, not only did I waste the money I already spent, I had to fork over more money for a new set of speakers (which I didn't buy from Mobile One, thank you very much).

Hopefully, whoever owns HPE will do right by their customer base and honor lifetime retunes and such.
