That just about sums it up. Both are great radar detectors, just depends on you I guess.

This thread reminds me, I need to send in my V1 for service.

No way I'd take a Bel over a Passport or V1. They are "okay" but aren't as proven yet.

yea and the way I am wiring it the bel will not turn on with my car like the passport can. I'd have to press the button everytime and that is not what I had originally planned.

thanks for the option though

Just ordered the detector, the invisicord and a mirror mount. Once they come in I'll let you guys know how it works and get some picks up.

I have both and I'd take a V1 over any Passport. I liked it soo much I pulled out the 8500 X50 out of my Camaro and bought another V1 for it.

This is what my X50 is now used for:

....wheel chocks!

This question has been asked a million damn times. Try a search.

Peace,
Craig.

Pro Series are to be sold at MSRP (ie RX65 = $329.99)." Therefore to not break the rules, we need to remove the serial numbers. If you want the serial numbers, we will gladly sell one to you with the serials for $329.99.

I just talked to Escort, and without that serial number (or the fact that you bought it on ebay) negates any warranty that you would be entitled to if you were to buy it from an authorized dealer. They also say that they do not require serial numbers to be removed by ANYONE (or that you HAVE to sell it for $329.99... thats why it is a SUGGESTED retail price), and that the seller more than likely removes the serial number because they are stolen. Thats why Escort asks for an invoice when you send your Passport in for service.

Why else would they "suggest" that you buy their 3 year warranty?

BondB17 is on that list.......

well... I guess we will just wait and see then. BondB17 gives me their 1 year warranty, and if for some reason they try to negate that I have paypal and ebay to back me up. As for them being stolen I hope not. that would make sense but I would imagine they would have gotten caught by now if they sold stolen goods. But without the serials who knows?

I use the 9500i. I like it, but if I had it to do over I would have just gotten the 8500 X50. Performance wise they're virtually identical just doesn't have the GPS features.

http://www.radarbusters.com/radar-detector-info.cfm This site has everyting you need to know as well as real world tests on each of the popular brands. Click on the "Speed measurement product testing" on the right to see results. Also here is a good comparison between the top 3 contenders the V1 the X50 and the Bel RX65<(which I just picked up earlier today) http://www.radarbusters.com/belescor...inearticle.cfm

a warrenty like that hold little to no value if they change there name or go out of buisness. there are half a dozen ways that they could be legit detectors without warrentys. dont be mad if you know the risk and buy it anyways and still get screwed.

I have the Bel and in nearly every independant test done, it rates #1, ahead or equal to Passport. The one I bought also includes a housing that stops RDD (radar detector detectors) from seeing it. In some states the cops can ticket you for using a detector and have equipment onboard the police car that can pickup your detector.

It works flawlessly for me and I have been using it for most of the year.

all radar detectors suck unless u have a laser diffuser to go with it. I got two ******* tickets driving to Austin last weekend. My passport went off both times but it was too late. POS
now the Z has K40 with laser diffuser, never been caught in that car
