Default FS: Fbody Custom Box/CVX 12" Sub/2 Kicker amps

Ok... time for a tune, and my ears hurt enough as it is. So I'm giving up the system.

Price Drop : $500 + actual shipping costs

This is a system that I built myself. The box is a small sealed enclosure that houses 1 12" Subwoofer. It will accommodate up to a 6 3/4" deep sub. It is carpeted on the face (the only visible part when installed) and sits in the small spot on the drivers side next to the t-top storage.

The subwoofer is a Kicker Comp VX (CVX124). 12", dual 4 ohm voice coils, 750w RMS, 1500w peak. It still has a free replacement warranty from Fry's Electronics. It is basically a round version of the Kicker L7, same magnet, etc., etc., etc.

Both of the amps are about 1 1/2 years old, and I have never had any problems with them.

The first of the two amps is a Kicker ZX400.1. It is a one channel Class D sub amp, with remote bass control. The certificate in the original box (I still have the certificate) rates this amp at 470w RMS, however, the product listings rate it at 400w RMS.

The second of the two amps is a Kicker ZX200.4. This is a 4 channel that has been used to power my door panel speakers, and the ones next to the rear seats. It is 50w RMS x 4 when run at 2 Ohms (with any 2 ohm 6.5" speaker), or 35w RMS x 4 when run at 4 ohms. It can also be bridged to a 2 channel for more power.

Here are pics of the two amps mounted together on my amp rack, which I will include. Just a piece of plywood with a few holes in it for wiring, but it makes a nice amp rack for an fbody.

None of this is stolen. It was all either made by me, or bought at Fry's Electronics. I will include whatever wiring I pull out, however I will warn that some of the AV's were almost too short for this application. If it is shipped, I will charge the buyer exactly what I pay for packaging and shipping. I'm not the one to rip someone on shipping.

This, along with a couple pairs of speakers, is the ultimate solution to Monsoon problems. The system is still functioning in my Camaro, and if someone needs it, I could get DB levels as it sits. I will say I was glad I didn't buy the 750 watt amp. This was as much bass as I'd ever want, that rear glass makes a big difference.

Price Drop : $500 + actual shipping costs

How much for just the box? If you don't mind splitting up the package.

Don't want to split it up... at least not yet. And if I do, I've got someone waiting on just the box and sub. PM sent

Everyone worried about race weight? I thought this would go pretty quick. Maybe I'll have to ebay it.

I wasn't really posting on here when I did it. I'll tell you, it's a bitch to get any airspace out of it. If you're gonna use a 10, there's a few boxes available aftermarket. WS6store.com has one. I'd even get the dimensions I used... but it's such an odd shape, you'd really have to have it next to you for it to do any good. I just went through an extensive trial and error period to get mine how I wanted it. This is the second version, the first was for a 10". When you start trying to push past that .5 cubic foot mark, things get really difficult. Good luck, but honestly, unless you want a 12", I'd save the time an effort, and just buy a steathbox, or subthump or something.

yeah i know how that goes. i got a kicker sub so i only need .8 cubic feet. i'm gonna go for the wood box. i got some good carpentry history in the family and various table saws so i'm gonna see what kind of box i can build... thanx for the info tho.

I'll get you some more detailed pics when I get it out of the car in a couple days, that'll give you a better idea of what I came up with.

Also what kind of warranty do they carry since you bought them at Fry's. Really just interested in the 2 amps only. I got an amp rack on the way
