Heaterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
A few nights ago I decided to hit up the local card club and play an all-night session. It's been a few months since I've done it and was in the mood to play some live poker for a change.
So I sit down in the 1-3 NLHE game as usual with $300 at about 10 PM. At about 11 PM I had about $330 and the game started to break. We went from 9 players to 5, which is exactly how I prefer to play. My favorite game is actually 3-handed but for live poker 5 handed will have to do.
Once we got 5 handed I turned up the aggression big time, opening almost every pot on the button, 3-betting button openers, and playing a very loose style. It works EXTREMELY well live because the play is generally so much more passive than online.
Anways, after about 2 hours of short handed play I flopped a set of Queens and busted the player to my right who was getting extremely frustrated with my wild and crazy play. Now I have about $700 in front of me, and the player I just busted reaches into his wallet and re-buys for another $300.
About 30 minutes after he re-buys for the $300 I bust him again when he bluff shoved the river and I made a GREAT call with top pair/top kicker. After losing another $300 to me he stands up and starts telling me how big of a fish I am and how I'm going to lose my roll playing this crazy. LOL.
After busting the old guy for the second time I had about $1,100 in front of me and was in the groove. About 20 minutes later the old guy comes back and tells me he wants to play short-handed $5/$10 with me. I tell him I'll play the $5/$10 if he buys in for at least $1000 and re-buys if he gets below $600. He agrees and goes to a 24 Hr. check cashing joint down the street to get more money. Now I'm drooling at the opportunity to bust him again. Ive never played stakes that big before but he was on mega monkey-tilt and was making terrible decisions. I couldn't pass this up.
A half hour went buy and he didn't come back, so just as I was about to stand up and cash out for the night (It's about 4 am now) he comes through the door with his money. Sure enough he got $1,500 and is ready to play. We got 3 other people from the $5-$5 game to play our $5/$10 game because he didnt want to play heads-up.
Sure enough, about 2 hours into the game he bluff shoved another river when I had QQ on a J 9 7 2 board. It was very possible he had 2-pair or a set or even a straight, but it was also possible he had a pair and a draw or even total air. I insta-called his total over-bet shove and he showed AK. The river was another 7 and I won the $2,000 pot. So now I have like $2,200 in front of me and this guy is about to have a heart attach. He basically had to be escorted out of the place for losing control.
We played another 30 hands maybe and I won a few small pots to get me close to $2,500 for the night. A few of the dealers told me that guy is a regular player there and has never freaked out like that ever. I hope I see him there again soon and he's in the mood to play more $5/$10 or even higher. I would play him in any stakes up to $10/$25 I think.
I know this is a car website but lots of people here IM me about my poker antics so I thought this would be an easier way to tell the story instead of typing it on AIM 40 times.

Dayumm! Reming me to never get into a game with you Ben, J/K. Hey, PM me if you're interested in playing a cash game sometime. We play once or twice a week in Deer Park. I'd like to find out where you're playing as well.

I play at a card club on 45 and College. It's a petty awesome little place. Tons of dead money at the tables and plenty of games going usually.
