soem coolant could have leaked ono tthe opti spark during those few months of sitting which can dammage it.
Id say go for and if it isnt the problem, you have fixed a solution that could possibly get worse as time goes by.

never seen one fire occasionally on one cylinder...of course ive only owned 6 lt1 cars in the last 3 years, 2 of them didnt run when i got them due to opti...
put a plug into the wire and touch it to the car(ground) and see if you have a birght blue solid spark....
also did you know the rotor only goes back on one way?

Tea, as usual it was the DAMN opti, thanks for the help guys, i didnt wanna spend 350$ for a new one and it not work, jewed a mexican dude down to 140$ for a used one, it worked.

Arh, the opti is on its way out, thats what i get buying used ****, guess i gotta take it back....well, felt good to ride in her, seems to pull even harder with a fugged up opti than it used to.
o man that sucks... Should have just went with teh performance opti from MSD. I have that 600$ one. Forget the name but ive had it on 2 of my LT1's and no prob at all. Have had it for about 4 years and counting...
