what to use for intake manifold?

just wondering i got a really dirty aluminum intake manifold, and was wondering what can i use to clean it. dont want to buy a new one just clean the one i have. Ive heard anyone from oven cleaner, brake fluid just need more info on someone that has done it. THanks the newbie. now 355sbc s10 soon to be ls2 s10....

I have used Oven Cleaner a bunch of times....Just dont leave it on for long....Spray it on leave it for Maybe 5 mins and rinse with water

Wont oven cleaner turn aluminum black? My suggestion is simple green.

Engine degreaser first and then simple green. It should come out nice. Good luck!

No it Cleans it well.....If you leave it on there it will start to Eat it !!!

If the intake is off the vehicle, you can take it to a local machine shop and have it blasted with glass beeds. It will look like new for not much money.
