I know more of the yells than you, have been to more yell practices than you and been to more games....and I went to UT.
You can not be brainwashed unless you attended the school Matt.

Unbelievable. So the Ags would rather beat their measuring stick, UT, than win national championships??

Nice try to discredit the fourth national championship won by Texas. So what if Vince was a once in a lifetime player? So was Reggie Bush, Tommie Frazier, and many other guys on teams that won national championships. They were part of the team and were key contributors that helped their teams win those championships. For some reason in your mind teams are supposed to be discredited for having a workhorse like that that the carried the team? So if aTm had gotten Vince and somehow had won the national championship, would you weakly attempt to discredit the Ags title?

I remember when Reggie McNeal went to A&M and played as a freshman and the Ags beat OU. You guys said he was your savior and how y'all would dominate the Big 12. Meanwhile, Vince redshirted and was quietly getting himself ready to play. I remember telling a friend of mine from Lufkin to remember the name Vince Young and that he would turn out to be a much better player than Reggie. He thought I was nuts and laughed at me. Turns out Vince was, uh, slightly better than Reggie, which he admitted later that he had never in his life seen a kid like Vince, lol.

i wouldn't worry about your team, I'd worry your self and the other fans that travel. Stay out of the west endzone, death row inmates sit there.

Yeah the fans at the U can be brutal. They don't call them 'The Criminals' for nothing. Seriously. Watch yourself if you go down there.

Keep in mind that UT is running a different defensive scheme than the last couple of years, so it may take a little getting used to the changes.

On the offensive side, I wasn't impressed with the running game, which was supposed to be improved, and Colt didn't look sharp and threw two interceptions. Usually Texas has blown out weak teams in openers so it is a little concerning, but its still really early in the season to worry too much. Texas is absolutely loaded with top notch talent two-deep at every position, so things will be fine. Fresno will put up a good fight as will TCU, so it'll be interesting to see after this week how things look.
agree with everything, except colt threw 5 interceptions, not 2. thankfully, the ball bounced OUT of the defenders hands on 3 of em. colt looked terrible!! the O-line did awesome at pass protection and TERRIBLE at run blocking. the defense let ASU do a non-contact scrimmage up and down the field. i am majorly concerned with the lack of intensity the Horns had going into that game. they have the talent, and they have the coaching, they just need to play like every game is a National Championship game. i really wanted to see chiles do mop up work in the first game, and he'll prolly have to sit out the TCU game. i hope he's really as good as what everyone is saying.

and to the wanna be aggie that started a UT-TCU thread... why dude? the aggies won, start a thread praising that "little choo choo that could" team.

I never said I didnt want A&M to win, I said I dont care what Texas does as long as A&M beats them when they play. I want nothing more than for A&M to win titles and championships. But considering we have not been undefeated since 1994 and have not been ranked in the top 5 since 98 Id say hoping for National Titles would be a bit far fetched at this point. No I didnt go to A&M, but I am 23 and make 50k+/year so Id say I am doing just fine. My grandfather however did play for A&M from 1937-1939 and was on the squad that won their only National Title. Anyhow I know alot of people think Fran is a joke, but I like the players he is brining in. We have our most talented team since we went to the Sugar Bowl in 99, and maybe one of the most talented backfeilds in school history.

Yall definitely have the most talented backfield in school history, no denying that. The Mcgee, Goodson and Lane combo is deadly, plus a huge target like Bennett to dump it off to.

It's on yalls defense this year, can they be the wrecking crew????

Talent-wise...yes. If you go off what Rivals/Scout ranks these guys Fran has done a damn good job, but they tend to play 10 yards off the ball on every snap. This gives the QB an easy dump pass if we rush and plent of time to look for receivers if we don't. I would like to see bump and run on the corners and at least 5 guys coming after the QB on every snap. If you look at A&M's past 4 recruiting classes we are stacked on defense, just gotta go out there and do it.

Sprayed, I'm telling you A&M is in for a lot of high scoring games with _arnell as your DC. They won't be stopping too many teams that have a potent offense and many of their games will be high scoring shootouts.

Got a question for you. Along with the Ags brutal schedule this year, which will probably end up being a rough year record-wise, how many key players are seniors on the team that will be gone after this year? I've heard it mentioned there is a decent chance that Bennett leaves after this year, which will hurt as well if he does. With the schedule getting easier in 2008 I'm thinking that A&M is going to be losing a bunch of key contributors after this year and will find the going rough again in '08 due to lack of experience and talent. Thoughts?

we have alot of seniors, but if you look at our lineup you'll see alot of juniors and some pretty damn good sophomores too, everybody loses a few good seniors every year, but we've got a pretty deep lineup year wise

A&M didn't lose any good seniors last year

Number of A&M players taken in last years draft = 0

UT = 7 last spring.....which is more than A&M has had since 2004

i love how everyone on this site calls "their" team or "yall"...its not your teams or their teams, because your not ON the team...even if u attend the school, you still dont play for the damn school.

"WE have alot of seniors but look at OUR lineup" ---just an example

we - you dont play ; you-he doesnt play..... so its ut vs tcu or whatever yall are griping about now...not "them" vs "us"

Hopefully we will bring a much better game Saturday then we did last weekend. I can't wait for the game, and football season couldn't have come soon enough.

FWIW, I'm proud of ole ASU. It's hard to be an Arkie in this state, that's for sure, LOL! I didn't see the game, but unless ASU is extremely hardcore in their Div. 1 AA conference this year, then I can bet that UT either overlooked, weren't worried, or both. I think if UT and ASU played again next weekend, the outcome would be the same, only with a much larger spread.
U of A had me worried last weekend, but I still say as long as Houston Nutt is HC and Frank Broyles is athletic director, we'll never be the team we COULD be.
GO HOGS!
BTW, when does Ark and UT play again?
