noise violation prolem...
i go to school at UNT and i'm living in the dorms (sucks... i know) anyways, quiet hours are at 10:00 on the weekdays and my neighbor likes to go to bed at 10 if not earlier.
problem is, we share an A/C vent and noise goes through it like crazy. and the bigger problem is that we always have friends over usually till like 1 in the morning. for the first 2 weeks this kid's solution to us being loud was to punch the wall for probalby 30 seconds or until we quit talking.
then 2 days ago he called the front desk on a "noise violation", which we didn't get a write-up (3 write-ups equal a $75 ticket) because he never actually confronted us about it.
so last night he actually got out of bed and asked us to turn down the noise, which consisted of 2 laptops being typed on and family guy in the background, barely loud enough for us to hear it. so we turn it down and i'm 7 feet from the tv and i can't make out half the words. WTF?!
what's this kid's problem? how can i deal with him or maybe the crappy accoustics in the room? any ideas? we thought of a "vent muffler" made of cardboard and sound deadner..
any of y'all ever had a similar problem?
i have thought about cramming a pillow in his side of the AC vent...
