You know the news stations hate this storm. They haven't had 3 weeks to talk about it prior to it arriving. No report broadcasts from Galveston weeks before it arrives asking people if they're going to evacuate.

Not really, the storm didn't really get any press. Saw it for the first time on the 10pm news last night.

The wind might be blowing 1 mph if we're lucky, and it's raining very lightly. But Channel 13 asked the Freeport police chief if they planned to evacuate the city lol.

Don't worry about it guys. I talked to my rig this morning and they said come on out to work. As long as these refineries stay online, there shouldn't be any change in price.

Well, that might be true.

However, it's the PERCEIVED "shortage" of supplies whether it's actually TRUE or not is neither here nor there.

Happens every time a storm goes through the gulf. Remember a few weeks ago? That storm never touched the gulf further north than the Yucatan, but yet, oil per barrel went up $1.27.

Oil market is EXTREMELY touchy when it comes to "shortages", "ALMOST shortages", Distillate stocks etc etc....

Simple economics!

I really don't see how they can claim shortages. About this time last year we had just finnished drilling a well that contained the biggest reservior ever found in the Gulf of Mexico. Since then we have drilled numerous wells that are online and producing oil and gas. It is all a bunch of ****. Gas prices are so high because the major oil companies like money too.
