Default Anyone here good at college Alg.?
I have a test at 5pm in college alg. and im stuck on 2 things on my review. cant figure this crap out for the life of me, figured there were a ton of college people on the board so why not ask..


solve the inequality:

|8x+4|<-2

now the answers im getting for that one are x<-3/4 and x>-1/4

neither of those are correct though, the answer is Ø no real answer. i have no idea how the book is getting that. can someone enlighten me?

the absolute value has to be a positive number, and that says its less than NEGATIVE two, and no positive number can be less than an negative
