Default Scammed!!

Yeah so I blew 4th out in my car about 2 months ago on the way back from getting it Tuned at G-force ( too much fun on a stock trans), and since then I was hunting for a built one and was going to get one of A.C.E.'s units which is what I should have done in the 1st place like I wanted to, well 3 days before I had the cash ready to place my order, I had a message on my phone from a Friend of mine telling me about this one place (who is not a sponser than god) that he got his from and had no problems with the guy that is a lil cheaper andsuposedly tailors his untis for different setups, and was a lil cheaper and offered free shipping on every order (that's what lured my dumb as in) well I call this guy up who happens to run his bussiness out of Maryland and had a lil chit chat about his work and he asked me what I was looking for in a built unit and how I had my car set up, after a few calls back and fourth he gave me the price of 1,350 shipped to my door and could have it shipped in the next 3 days, sounded good to me, soooooo I overnighted him the payment, gave it a day to get there, called him to make sure he got it, and he confirmed and said he'd e-mail the tracking number to me by the next day or two when it was shipped, well that was on the 5 and 6th of Sept. and still No tracking number like promised, tried to make a call, straight to machine/voicemail or "not accepeting calls" nor have I got a reply from him Via E-mail.....It's almost to the point where me and my dad are going to fly to Baltimore and stay with my uncle for a few days and make a lil 45 min trip to the city/town this guy lives and take a lil action. just so none of you guys get took buy this guy like I did, beware of anyone affliated with or trying to gain this guy bussiness.:

Fruitland is just south of Salisbury. Unfortunately I know the area too well. You can fly straight into Salisbury w/ US Air and bypass the drive. It'll be more like a 2 hour drive from Baltimore with their low speeds and plentiful cops. DO NOT SPEED if you decide to drive there. That area is just one big speed trap.

We have a jacked up plant south of there that I had to spend half my summer trying to get their lazy butts working. I wouldn't have anything to do with any business on the Delmar pennisula. Their work ethic in general sucks! Even going out to eat is an experience in poor service.

I'd probably first call their local better business bureau, and the local chamber of commerce. See if the guy even actually has a business there. How did you pay? Check to written to him or the business?

Might be worth a post in the seller feedback section. I know that several users have had to deals with out of state deals that have gone bad, and maybe someone could offer you some tips on where to start.

look under parts classifieds section then there is a "negative seller feedback" sub section.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, the BBB is like an old dog with no teeth. Sure it can bark, but when it comes time to actually do something, that's all they do... bark. They have no power to do anything "legal". They write letters and keep files, that's about it.

Call the local police up there and see if there's anything they can do.

very true, I just would try and use them to confirm if he has an actual business or not. It may change your options.

Well I havn't exsactly been sitting around and collecting it as a loss just yet....I have called the BBB and they have "looked" into it blah blah blah, and have put a complaint aginst him and his bussiness, I have also Called the local Police and they took his info and refer me to the local District Court to file an official complaint with them to get my money back, seeing that it's more than $500 and accross state lines it's a Felony Theft with minimum time of 5yrs in a Fedral Prision(what the P.D. told me). just don't have the D/C number or anything. and have also filed a complaint with IC3 ( Fedral interstate trade/transport somthing or another) and they have red flagged his name and Bussiness so if he trys to get anykind of financial help for his bussiness that lil red flag Fks him on that deal..
