Labor cost for engine replacement?

I want to replace my 162K miles engine with a new one and was wondering how much the labor will be just for the replacement. I will be putting a new ls1 engine that has intake and oil pan. I want to get an idea before I talk to a shop.

I was quoted by several shops R&D is $1750 & $250 for the buildup of the longblock. So in short you are looking at $2000 to pull it & put the motor back in. That price was also with gaskets.

I just had my motor replaced & it was $2200 with Gaskets & all fluids. Not counting the price to rebuild the short block.

Thanks guy. Yeah its basically just taken one out and putting the accessories on the new one and dropping in and connecting the wires.

save yourself some money and try and do it yourself or get some beers and got someone here to do it for ya.

PS DAMNIT I WAS THINKING OF DOING A LS1 SWAP TO THE TRANS AM DIDNT THINK IT WOULD COST 2000$ TO PUT THE ENGINE IN.
