How did UTEvo8 ruin the conversation? texags is the most delusional, unrealistic group of people associated with a school/team I've ever seen. He IS right in that none of the coaches in that group (spurrier, carroll, belichick,
saban, and paterno) mentioned will become the coach at aTm.

but still, everyone else was bringing up valid points and favorites for actual selection, but i guess someone has to start making fun of ags at some point in a thread about them

Majoor Applewhite will turn his back on Texas and coach the Aggies. LOL.
No I think A&M will throw the money at a coach with some skins on the wall, but that is a great question. Besides the money who wants to take over a team that the Administration and Alumni will put 1,000 pounds of pressure on to win now. Winning overnight is such a rarity, change in systems and personnel to a modern day attack. Either way change can take it's toll on all.

Looks like the Ags are going to go 6-6 or 7-5 at best, just as I predicted at the start of this season. Mizzou is probably going to beat them worse than OU did.

Carroll was never a serious name in the hat, it was never in the hat, just like jimmy johnson was never in the hat and a joke. Spurrier is a pipe dream. Saban will not leave bama, he was never mentioned on any boards with a serious backing. Paterno & Belichick have not had a strong backing either on msg boards. And this is msg boards not from our AD.

The only two names that are being talked about now is TT and Briles. TT to be here, and Briles for the disgust of him coming here, no one wants him. Tedford has faded.

I actually think Fran will go to SMU. Tcu would love that one.

Mike Sherman, this is the only place that i've seen his name mentioned.

The only other thing is we have some "super scout" looking for a coach name being nenias<sp>

Jon, why do the Aggies not like Briles? I'm not saying he should be the next coach at A&M, but he's a guy with a lot going for him as a coach. You put him in the right spot at a big-time CFB program and I think he'd do very well. I hear Rich Rodriguez's name being mentioned, but I don't think he's going to leave WVU. It's his alma mater and if Alabama couldn't lure him away last year with all of their money I don't think he would consider A&M.

Art Briles would be a good pick for A&M, though his defenses have always left something to be desired, and defense is held in pretty high regard in CS. It's been 10+ years since the Wrecking Crew was in full affect and it would be nice to see that return.

Ben R has it, most people are scared of him not bringing in any defense. Offense might take a step in the right direction but the defense would be lacking, and this university and the fans pride themselves with having a "wrecking crew" thats why so many people are nuts for TT. I don't know anything about briles so i can't make a decision.

I have heard rodriguez once, and that was when our private jet went there after the miami game. and that was a rumor, since then i haven't heard anything.

May have to wait for TT and see if Les Miles bails for Michigan or ND. Those are the only two teams he can leave LSU for. Carr might finally be out of Michigan this year and Miles would be the first in line. Which would make LSU open for TT.

Alabama papers report he would be interested.

Yall might be waiting till mid January

I doubt that Les Miles is going anywhere, just my opinion. He's got it made at LSU.

Nothing here has happened besides fran out at the end of the season. This is just how things could roll after the Championship game and it will roll fast for recruiting reasons.

Les will crawl to Ann Arbor naked with a roman candle sticking out of his butt if they offer him the job. Michgan has always been his dream job. His wife hates LA.

I think TT is the front runner, but I have been hearing two other names that are flying under the media's radar.

Mike Price
