Shipping motor?!

WHen we sent the Nova engine to Steve Schmidt back in the summer we built our own crate out of 2x4's and plywood. We used 2 4x4 pieces for "legs" or skids so that a forklift could get under it easily and it would be well supported. We did use and portable engine stand of course that was bolted to the block and then to the crate so it would not move around... Jegs and Summit sell them for about ~$35.00.
It is not hard... just start cutting and nailing. I nailed it together and backed those up with screws. It was time consuming for us, but we didn't want to take any chances with our engine. They don't give those away ya know!
Good Luck with it.

i have shipped at least 5 motors just on pallets. strap it down to the pallet and your good to go. I have found it works well to have an old tire on teh pallet and you then put the engine on that.
I did use a box to ship one engine (I sold it for 10k so i wanted a bit of protection for it) it was a big plastic box, I paid $100 for it, I dont remember where i got it.
