Thanks to the crew at LMR!
Several months back after the car lifted the heads, while being sprayed on the dyno, my dad was gonna yank the motor and sell the car as a roller. I couldn't let the car go, so I picked it back up from dad. I ended up taking the car by LMR, and asked them to pull the heads to see what the damage was, and just do a general run through of the chassis, and components.
Motor looked okay, but not great, one of the cylinders was pretty nasty because it probably had a little coolant in it while it sat up. They cleaned up the motor, dropped the heads off at LME, to see if they were even worth the cleanup. At this point I wasn't even sure what I wanted to do with the car. If the motor was toast I'd probably go back to a heads/cam setup for a while. Anyways, LME cleaned up the heads, and LMR got the motor back together. Josh also made a few suspension changes, since the car has always tended to track to the right out of the hole. They basically just put a wrench to EVERYTHING on the car, since it has been a while since it has seen track time. What is impressive is they did all of this while they are churning out all the work on the 7sec camaro, and all their other business.
Anyways a few days back they told me that Mike Murillo was having a track rental day at SAR yesterday, and asked If I wanted to take the car. I was like "hell yeah". We knew going in the motor is on its last legs, so the plan was to make a few motor passes to get the car down the track some, and maybe make some mild nitrous hits, so we could see how the car handled.
So we get down to SAR, unload, get the car setup Make 1/2 track motor pass, to shake the cobwebs loose. get it back and do a once over, and try to make a nitrous hit, just a launch to see how it handles it. The car was jetted down from when dad had it, but Josh had canceled out the progressive, and was throwing the full hit to it out of the hole. The car came out of the hole HARD! Steven shut it down before the 330, and we pulled it back to check it out. Netted a 1.29 60', and still tracked to the right, but not near as bad. Josh checked the data logs ( said the car was fat ), and read the plugs ( looked like it was lean ). Also the car pushed some coolant into the catch can, so we suspected the welded head was already showing its fatigue.
So..we decided to try and get as much out of the opportunity that we could. We would just make launches, to try and tweak the suspension. Josh fattened up the fuel, and made the chassis adjustments, and we made another pass. Car launched hard again, and this time much less pull to the right. Netted a 1.26 60'. Pulled it back, logs looked better, and the plugs looked much better. No coolant pushed...but the plug from the cylinder that had been welded up years ago had a hint of that ooooohhh so sweet smell. At this point we left th a/f the same, Josh tweaked the chassis a touch more.
We pulled the car up for another pass, and during the burnout it started to push some coolant, so we pulled it back to the pits, pulled the plug, and it belched up some fluid. So we packed up, and watched Murillo make another pass then hit the road.
It's finally "RIP" for the old LS6 heads. But it was fun to have the car at the track, and making some launches. Now I just have to decide what I'm gonna do next. I have a c6 project I have to finish first. But overall I've been real impressed with the guys at LMR, They told me straight up that this motors days were numbered, but I guess like and old dog thats too sick to get around...I felt like I had to put it down, and out of its misery.
Anyways thanks again to All the guys at LMR! Also big thanks to Mike Murillo, for letting us run the car at at SAR, and tweaking the tune on the car abit.
sorry for the novel

Justin, I don't have any recent pics, I' may try and take a few later this week.
Paul, I hear ya man! Just got to figure out what I want to do with the car right now. I got alot of "Irons in the fire" so to speak right now.
Chris, will do man! If you come out west ..I wanna ride in that car!
Gray, Murillo's car just looked badass! I got a chance to talk to Bill Buck for a bit, and he showed me some of the stuff on the car. Impressive is just an understatement. The car sounds awesome, they were just tweaking it every run, pushing it a little more each time. Runs I saw , the car went straight, and looked good, but they were all partial passes.
. Larry, glad you and your dad had a great time. We will talk this week about which direction to go. Definately need to upgrade a few things but she will definately fly when we are finished.

No it's not....
It's the famous, rarely seen creature called a sasquach...aka Big Foot...
More common in the mountain areas of the country but mysteriously known to be seen at local tracks in the Texas area....
Be afraid...very afraid!
